Lorde 在今年一月演唱會唱這首歌之前做了一些敘述:

「這是一首非常非常寂寞的歌曲，好似你必須要馬上離開你的房子去走走，否則會被它活活吞噬，在如此靜謐中的震耳長嘯。 但你仔細想想那寂寞感， 那在你之中是如此強大。它會讓你體會並學習到自己的多寡，因為它像是.. 許多人遲早會離開你或讓你失望，但你開始體會到與自己互相建立並承擔起自己，那種對自己的期待和愛，真的感覺很好。

當我在寫這首歌時，我記得我不斷想到自己，那時想到自己可能根本不能達到現在這一步，那離我好遙遠，想到我將會在台上與一群人一起唱這首歌，我將不再感到寂寞。」
